Yahoo Answers

Yahoo Answers in an interesting Web 2.0 Tool. Many educational professionals are unaware of this site, in which people can ask questions of the community, and the community responds.

It is a great way of finding out obscure information that would be virtually impossible to find elsewhere. For example, "how do I connect an old Atari Vision to my television?"

The tricky thing about Yahoo Answers from an educator's perspectives is the increasing ability and opportunity for getting a little too much 'help' with their assignments.

Awareness of this type of available information may precipitate a need to adjust the way in which we assess work that is done in an unsupervised environment.

Have a look around the Yahoo Answers site, to get a feel for the information flow. I would recommend selecting your area of expertise from the menu on the left-hand side of the screen.
