RSS Continued

Now that you have a reader space, you will need to subscribe to the services that you are interested in. You may find that your favourite journals and magazines are offering this. Almost all news distribution companies offer RSS or ATOM (both will work with your Google Reader).

The easiest way to add content to your reader is to Click on the 'Add Subscription' button, then type a key word into the box. The reader will find companies that offer this service using that key word.

You can click on the image to enlarge it.

When the reader finds matches, simply click on the 'Subscribe' button for each item that you wish to subscribe to.

An Alternative way to add content is to navigate to the sites that you are interested in, and find there RSS or ATOM feeds (this will be shown as links on their main pages). Highlight and copy the link you are interested in, then go back to your Reader and click on 'Add Subscription'.

In the pop-up paste the link that you copied.

Click 'Add', and you have added your subscription.

From the first image above, you can see that I have added CNN's feeds on technology and their main headlines.
